- The first Training Week of the project was a successDecember 14, 2020Last week FLOAWER organised it's first training week of the project, where FLOAWER ESRs gathered together with other ESRs and PhD students to attend 8 lectures around Engineering in Floating Offshore Wind.
- Arrival of Victor Benifla, ESR8 at University of RostockDecember 1, 2020ESR at UROS, Germany for the next 3 years,Victor started his work in November. He will focus on "Multi-Used design components for different kind of floating sub-structures".
- Arrival of Moritz Gräfe, ESR2 at University of StuttgartDecember 1, 2020Moritz, ESR of USTUTT, embarked in the FLOAWER project in November. He's dedicating his time and work around "Assessing the measurements of offshore wind conditions using LiDAR on floating platforms for resource assessment and power curve verification" for the next 36 months.
- Arrival of Ana Garcia Correa, ESR1 at Centrale NantesNovember 2, 2020ESR at ECN, France for the next 3 years, Ana started her work in November. She will focus on "Wind resource assessment in deep waters through space-distributed measurement systems".
- Arrival of Navid Belvasi, ESR6 at University College CorkNovember 1, 2020ESR at UCC, Ireland for the next 3 years, Navid started his work in November. He will focus on "Advanced physical Modelling Methods for Floating wind turbines".
- Arrival of Mariana Montenegro Montero, ESR9 at POLIMIOctober 19, 2020ESR at POLIMI, Italy for the next 3 years, Mariana started her work mid-October. She will focus on "Horizontal and vertical axis WT aerodynamic modeling and testing".
- Arrival of Thomas Messmer, ESR10 at University of OldenburgOctober 16, 2020Thomas, ESR at University of Oldenburg, embarked in the FLOAWER project mid-October. He's dedicating his time and work around "Dynamics and interaction of floating turbines" for the next 36 months.
- Arrival of Kutay Yimazlar, ESR12 at POLIMISeptember 16, 2020ESR at POLIMI, Italy for the next 3 years, Kutay started his work mid-September. He will focus on "Integrated design and LCOE minimization of horizontal and vertical axis wind turbines".
- Arrival of Xiaoming Ran, ESR4 at NTNUSeptember 1, 2020Xiaoming, second ESR of NTNU, embarked in the FLOAWER project in September. He's dedicating his time and work around "High-fidelity determination of wave load and load effects for floating WT hulls subjected to severe wave conditions" for the next 36 months.
- Arrival of Eva Melina Schmitt, ESR7 at NTNUAugust 10, 2020ESR at NTNU, Norway for the next 3 years, Eva started her work early August. She will focus on "Advanced design and optimized cost of mooring systems".
- ESR6 position open at UCCJuly 1, 2020The University College Cork, Ireland, is opening its ESR6 position to applications. Apply until July 31 to join our project.
- ESR 5 position still open at Centrale NantesMay 20, 2020 - July 1, 2020Following the announcement of the 2nd call for applicants, Centrale Nantes opens the ESR5 position for application, until the 1st of July.
- Arrival of Craig White, ESR13 at WavECMay 1, 2020Craig White, second ESR to start his PhD, embarked in the FLOAWER project in May. He's dedicating his time and work around "System design to minimize the LCOE of Floating Offshore Wind" at WavEC, Portugal.
- FLOAWER 2nd Call for ApplicantsApril 22, 2020 - August 31, 2020FLOAWER opens a 2nd call for Applicants and is looking for 1 PhD student. The ESR position (ESR2) is located at University of Stuttgart.
- Arrival of Daniel Hatfield, ESR3 at DTUApril 1, 2020Daniel Hatfield is the first ESR who started his PhD work within our project.Since the beginning of April he's dedicating his time and work around "Offshore wind resource at deep sea applying satellite data and numerical modelling" in DTU, Denmark.
- 1st FLOAWER eventMarch 9, 2020On March 3 and 4, Centrale Nantes hosted the first FLOAWER event. Gathering around 40 people, it was the perfect opportunity to meet all the different partners of the project.
- ESR recruitment event / 4 March 2020 / NantesDecember 17, 2019The MSCA ITN project FLOAWER just started and it's already time to announce its first major event. In fact on Wednesday 4 March, the ESR recruitment event will take place at Centrale Nantes, France.

- Arrival of Florent JUBE, FLOAWER Projet ManagerDecember 4, 2019Recently graduated from a Master's degree in European projects management, Florent has travelled Europe throughout his studies improving his language skills. Thanks to the diversity of his curriculum, he had the chance to broader his academic and professional experiences which makes him a flexible and open-minded young professional.
- Open-Call for applications for 13 ESR positionsNovember 13, 2019The FLOAting Wind Energy netwoRk (FLOAWER) is primarily designed to train researchers in the required multi-disciplinary engineering fields to better develop Floating Offshore Wind technologies under the constraint of Levelized Cost Of Energy minimization.
